Growing up through every stage of the program—from Little Ninja to Samurai, Elite, and Black Belt—he embodies the values, traditions, and spirit of the dojo. As Head Instructor, Sensei Barone has been teaching since the age of 14 and is known for his ability to inspire students, develop strong martial artists, and carry on the art with the same passion and dedication that has made him a trusted leader and mentor. Few instructors have had a greater impact on the students of The Dojo Paramus, and his commitment to the next generation of martial artists continues to make Sensei Melissa proud. Sensei Jack Sensei Jack Mertz is a second-degree black belt who has trained in Isshin-ryu Karate his entire life, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Professor Ronald Allen Mertz, and his mother, Master Melissa Mertz.
